On Monday, June 12, 2023, at the South Side High School Senior Awards evening, the Rockville Centre Education Foundation awarded a $1000 scholarship to senior Matthew Eckrich.

The Foundation annually presents the scholarship to the South Side high school senior who best demonstrates in his/her submission how a Foundation grant(s) enriched their academic career.

In his submission, Matthew expressed how the Foundation supported program, ROBOTICS, enabled him to not only gain insight into modern technology but, also was a unique catalyst for his social and emotional growth.  Matthew’s experience is an example of how the many Education Foundation-funded activities provide not only intellectual stimulation but also promote secondary benefits.

In the fall, Matthew plans to study music at SUNY Potsdam.

Congratulations to Matthew Eckrich, recipient of the 2023 Rockville Centre Education Foundation Scholarship!
