Scholarship
Each year, the Rockville Centre Education Foundation awards a $1500 scholarship to the graduating South Side High School senior who best demonstrates in a submission to the committee how they benefited or were otherwise academically enriched from
an Education Foundation sponsored program(s).

As an example, here is a bit about a recent scholarship winner:

In June of 2025, at the South Side High School Senior Awards evening, the Rockville Centre Education Foundation awarded a scholarship to senior Michael Baum.
The Foundation annually presents the scholarship to the South Side high school senior who best demonstrates in their submission how a Foundation grant(s) enriched their academic career.

In his submission, Michael expressed that he benefited from many foundation programs. But one particular program that stood out was the Enrichment Cluster at Covert Elementary School.
Michael selected an enrichment cooking class because there were "no grades, no pressure, and we all have to eat!"
Michael still remembered arriving at the class with kids from every grade and embarking on an experience that was more than they anticipated. To this day, they still remember safety lessons, such as not putting out oil or grease fires with water. Which, apparently, “served me well on various occasions."
He recalled how the class helped him collaborate with diverse group members and figure out how to divide responsibilities and accomplish team goals. And with regard to actually cooking, today this student can not only follow a recipe but is also confident enough to "change it up a little… which will serve me well, especially now that I’m heading to college.”
The Rockville Center Education Foundation is proud to have sponsored a program that remains memorable to students almost a decade later and will continue to be valuable and practical for decades to come.
