Scholarship
Each year the Rockville Centre Education Foundation awards a $1000 scholarship to the graduating South Side High School senior who best demonstrates in a submission to the committee how she/he benefited or was otherwise academically enriched from
an Education Foundation sponsored program(s).

Submissions may take the form of an essay, CD, project, video, etc.

As an example, here is a bit about a recent scholarship winner:
On Monday, June 7, at the South Side High School Senior Awards evening the Rockville Centre Education Foundation awarded a $1000 scholarship to senior Anna Bingham.
The Foundation annually presents the scholarship to the South Side high school senior who best
demonstrates in his/her submission to the committee evidence of how Foundation grants enriched their academic careers. Anna’s
submission detailed how the Education Foundation funded program, Robotics, which began in seventh grade, played an impactful role in Anna’s years of learning. “The challenge of robotics ignited my brain and I loved it!“

Anna gained valuable educational & life experiences via local, regional, national, and international competitions. In her senior year, as captain of the robotics team, Anna helped the squad rise from a previous 37th place finish to winning a regional competition and qualifying for the nationals. Perhaps an even more significant benefit was that Anna found that robotics fostered connection and collaboration with people; skills that will carry through not only in robotics but in so many other areas of life.
